"WE SUPPORT MANY GROUPS IN CREATING COMPLETE SONGS & CD'S OF THEIR ORIGINAL MUSIC, WHICH WE DEVELOP ON LOCATION OR AT THE STUDIO. WE ALSO HELP WITH THE ARTWORK FOR THEIR CD AND ONLINE MUSIC PLATFORM SO THAT THEY CAN SHARE IT WITH THEIR FRIENDS."

MAKING USE OF 'ADAPTIVE' MUSIC TECHNOLOGY

We use Music Technology as part of most of the workshops we offer.  Music Technology can mean using a computer to record or compose music but it can also be attributed to many other things such as using microphones, guitars and effects pedals, amplifiers, synthesizers and keyboards.

We focus a good deal of energy on developing, promoting and making use of "Adaptive Music Technology"

which are sensory and multi-touch devices that can be used by anyone to make amazing music.

For example, we have used game pads to control the performance of a string quartet,

launchpads to jam complete songs, ipads to record a DJ set and 'Makey Makey' to

play a drum kit with fruit & vegetables!

This rapidly evolving and improving technology is allowing us to make making music accessible to all.

We are developing Chime as a centre for Adaptive Music Technology

and resource for music technology and learning.

We use Music Technology in a lot of what we do because it enables us to do so much more.

Here are some examples of what a workshop using Music Technology would entail:

* Start composing and arranging a piece of Music using some cutting edge software called Ableton Live,
* Record some vocal lyrics, guitar or other instruments using a the computers audio interface,
* Add effects and extra zing or zap to your music,
* Mixdown the track and burn it straight to CD or save it to a memory stick.

IN-HOUSE OR OUTREACH

We can bring all of our musical gadgetry and recording equipment to you or you can choose to come to Chime to have some fun with music; the choice is yours. Often groups may want to work on lyrics or ideas for songs in

their own setting e.g their youth club and then come to the studio for the final few sessions to record their tracks.

Why don't you get in touch with us to see how we can tailor

a group music workshop to your needs.
