After months of learning new instruments, recording their sounds and rehearsing, the Lavalamp Lighters band are ready to gig live.
The Band were asked to play at this years Sounds Central which is a small grass roots one day festival that took place on Sunday 9th June 2013 at Central Park, Peterborough.
The band had a brilliant gig, they were a wee bit nervous, as it was their first gig, but they really pulled it out of the bag, They played 3 songs and were greatly received by the audience.
Here is a film of the last track of their set, called “Change Your Life”, which was written by the band.
In the current band line-up we have David Hills on lead guitar, Assunta Genovese on organ and piano, Sharon Smith on percussion and synth, Enzo Petruziello on drums and synth and Jeremy on bass guitar, drums and vocals. Unfortunately Neil Hardy and Chris Tutin could not be with us on the day.
Originally there were more band members involved as the Lavalamp LIVE project was split into two terms when it began last year. The first group focused more on learning new instruemnts, exploring sound and recording a track in the studio called “Lavalamp Will Rock You” which you can hear
The Lavalamp Lighters Band are here to stay! Although the funding for the project has come to an end (for now), the band are not going to let that stop them! They are determined to continue arranging their own rehearsals, write and record new songs and manage bookings and further their musical skills and development with the support of Beat This C.I.C. There will also be the opportunity for others to take part in the band. So watch this space!
